About Us:

Provident Living Academy is a private parochial school. Our vision for the Local and Distance Learning Programs is to provide families with the information and support to create faith-based, applied, experiential learning environments. Sustainable living skills are encouraged and taught through hands-on, real life learning experiences. Counseling to prepare for higher education is available as well as assistance in navigating the college application process. As we believe that learning never ends, the Academy also offers the Life Long Learner classes for adults. Our philosophy is that the basic foundation for all courses of study is to connect daily life to moral, spiritual and civic responsibilities. By creating Individual Mentorship Plans, academics and life activities bring learning to life and create a lifelong love of learning. Our students are strongly encouraged to participate in our 3 Pillars of Education: Community Service, Citizen Statesmanship and Self-Reliance. Students ages 14 and up will be guided to individual mentors within their area of interest upon request. The Mentoring Plan helps students to identify their life’s passion, mission and direction. The Academy supports and encourages the concept of strong family, a “Zion-like” community (one heart, one mind and dwelling in righteousness like the people of Enoch) and participation in government. No student will be discriminated against because of learning challenges, race, creed, or religion. Our curriculum recommendations teach students to “take upon themselves responsibility, and to become independent, by themselves becoming producers, and skillful workers” (Joseph F. Smith). Provident living skills prepare our students to face the future with confidence. Knowledge is information plus experience. We seek to encourage classical leadership educations with a strong spiritual perspective determined by the family. We believe that there is a price to pay for every decision and Decisions Determine Destiny. Our goal is to help create an atmosphere where students can feel the spirit and develop their own spiritual compass. Provident Living Academy is also a resource for other alternative education families. Families seeking to enrich their education programs may attend youth classes, adult extension classes and field trips as interest dictates and opportunities are offered. Guidance Counseling includes assistance with GED, career, college and vocational planning.
